Ponderings of the AFL

Ok here are some things that are on my mind and I'm going to make a comment about.

First of all. What is the issue with these coaches not signing. Mark Williams puzzles me. For a start Port Adelaide have come out and said that they are going to re-sign him and now there are a delay with the details of that contract. We all know he's going to sign it's just a matter of how long and how much for. Then there is Mick Malthouse. Hello!? He wants to coach and here's another thing is that he doing good things with Collingwood. What more do you want? Get the signings done, that way you can truly make a charge especially at Collingwood and to a degree at Port Adelaide.

Secondly. The tanking issue has reaped it's ugly head again! Guess what AFL?! If you don't like teams doing it, then change the rule! Simple! The debate of To tank or not to tank seems to be a question that has been asked on many footy shows. To me while there are loop holes in the system then teams are going to exploit it. To me Melbourne are trying to win games, and that's to their credit and they probably would win maybe another game or two before the end of the year, to me that would excite Demons supporters. Although they are saying that the potential number one pick Tom Scully is a ready made player and worth tanking for. I don't know how many games Melbourne would potentially win but I think they would be alright to pick him up even if they try to win games. Back in 2007 Carlton were known to tank in order to get Matthew Kruezer and rightfully so, he had one of his best games on the weekend. There were a lot of people saying how dare they and if Melbourne did the same thing then the same reaction would be immenent. In my opinion if you can win games, try because that's the building blocks for the future with the confidence of the young and experienced players at the club. If you don't, then at least you can get a valuable draft pick.
